The upgrade that unlocks everything else.
Solar, batteries, EV chargers and heat pumps all land on the same service panel. If it is a 100 amp board from 1978, that is the project, and everything else waits behind it.

Every figure on this site is an estimate from Triangle averages with its assumptions published. Your real number comes from a site visit.

Federal Pacific and Zinsco
If your Triangle home was built between the 1950s and the early 1980s, there is a real chance the panel is a Federal Pacific Stab-Lok or a Zinsco. Both have documented histories of breakers that fail to trip.
We will tell you what you have and what the evidence actually says, without theatrics. It is a real safety issue and it is also a favourite scare tactic, and you deserve the version without the sales pressure.
