A battery is insurance that occasionally pays a dividend.
In North Carolina, batteries rarely pay for themselves on rate arbitrage alone. Buy one because you want the lights on when the grid is down, and treat the savings as a bonus.

Payback
Backup, not payback
Every figure on this site is an estimate from Triangle averages with its assumptions published. Your real number comes from a site visit.

What a battery actually covers
Most homes do not need whole-house backup. A critical load panel carrying the fridge, the well pump, some lighting and a couple of outlets will run far longer on the same battery than an attempt to back up the entire house.
We will design that panel with you and tell you how many hours it buys. A number in hours is worth more than a brochure adjective.
