We would rather lose the sale than fake the number.
Solar has a trust problem, and it was earned. Companies quote savings without stating a single assumption, and homeowners have no way to check them. We do the opposite, in public, on this website.

Twenty-two years in the Triangle
We started as a straight electrical contractor and added solar when it stopped being a novelty and started being arithmetic. That order matters — it means we look at the panel first, because we have spent two decades working on panels.
A lot of solar companies arrived the other way round, selling arrays before they understood the service they were connecting to. That is why so many of these projects stall halfway through with an unexpected upgrade quote attached.
We are licensed by the North Carolina State Board of Examiners of Electrical Contractors and our solar crews hold NABCEP certification. Both numbers are verifiable and we would rather you checked them.

Where we say no
Heavily shaded lots, north-facing roofs, and any house where the shingles will need replacing inside five years. We turn down more solar work in Chapel Hill than anywhere else in the Triangle, and that is the tree canopy doing its job.
We also talk people out of batteries they were about to buy on a payback claim that does not hold in North Carolina. A battery is worth having for backup. Selling it as an investment is where the honesty goes.
